In detail
The NH-D15 G2 is the second generation of a cooler that held reference status for nearly a decade. Eight heatpipes, a twin-tower fin stack and two NF-A14x25 G2 fans.
In heat removed it is comparable to 280 mm liquid systems, but there is no pump: no part that wears out and no fluid that can leak. For a machine expected to run five years without service, that argument carries weight.
24.8 dB(A) at full speed is quiet, quieter than most case fans. The base is offered in three convexity variants matched to different processors, which improves contact with the heat spreader.
The real constraint is size. 168 mm tall, 1.5 kg. Check your case's maximum cooler height and your memory height before ordering: modules above 45 mm require raising the front fan. AM5 and LGA1851 mounting hardware is included.
